Melissa has danced since the age of 11. Her training consists of Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, PomPom and Hula. She was a Universal Dance Association All-Star performer in 1996, performing in London at the New Year’s Parade. Melissa was a Universal Dance Association Drill Down Queen in 1996 and was given the honor of Accomplished Individuals in Monroe City, by the Lake Gazette. Ms. Viloria was a founding member of the Monroe City Community Theatre. Pursuing her love of theatre as an Assistant Director and cast member. She was an Instructor and assistant choreographer at Chelle’s Dance Studio from 1996-2001. In 2003 she entered the retail world opening her own dance Boutique. In 2007 her love of dance and performing returned strong as she continued her college education at Culver Stockton College. She was a dance Instructor teaching modern, folk, jazz, ballet and tap, while choreographing Rocky Horror Picture Show and 1940’s Radio Hour. Melissa is a long standing head Cheer and dance team coach.
Sydra’s dance education began at the age of 2 where she studied under her mother Raeann in Sulpher Springs Texas. After moving to Iowa 1991 she continued her education under her mother and grandmother Larye Eller of Larye School of Dance. She was a member of kids in Motion and a Power Tumbling Team. Sydra won her first tab scholarship in the age of 6 and was a National Champion at the age of 8.
As a sophomore Sydra travel to New York City for professional tap intensive where she performed in an off Broadway Production.
Sydra is a 2006 graduate of Keokuk High School. During high school she was a member of the Little Feathers Dance Team. After graduation she attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Ia. where she choreographed and danced for their dance team. She later attended Everest University and is a business major.
In following her mother and grandmothers footsteps it was fate that led her to teach dancing at Impulse Dance Center in Spencer Ia. She then returned to Keokuk and has been a full time teacher at Raeann School of Dance. Her students and choreography have won top awards and numerous competitions. Sydra has one son, Riley.
Suzanne is a lifelong student of dance. She began her dance career at Larye’s School of Dance at the age of 3.
She continued dancing at Raeann School of Dance throughout her senior year in highschool and was a 6 year member of Kids In Motion. Suzanne attended Kirkwood Community College where she was a two year member of the school dance team and served as their coach for 1 year. While attending Kirkwood, Suzanne served as assistant choreographer and dance coach for the college musical, “Guys and Dolls.” She also choreographed dances for the area high school dance teams.
Suzanne has 3 years experience as a choreographer and dance instructor for the Keokuk High School Junior Varsity Show Choir, “Vibrations.” She is currently the KHS Color Guard/Winter guard coach, receiving high score awards. Suzanne enjoys teaching and sharing her love of dance with the students at Raeann School of Dance.
Jenny Leon is happy to be teaching at Raeann School of Dance, the studio where her daughter has trained at for the past 7 years. Growing up in Carmen, Illinois; Jenny loved cheerleading and poms. Her passion for dance has consistently thrived, allowing her to also excel in hip hop and tumbling. She loves to travel and take classes to pursue the educational aspects of dance training and to bring in fresh ideas. Having graduated from high school in 98’ and college in 00’, Jenny earned her AAS degree in office technology and is currently a coder/biller at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois. Jenny’s motto is, “Never say you can’t, always say you’ll try!”.
Jenny is from Carman, IL. She became familiar with Raeann’s School of Dance four years ago when her daughter, Schelby, was enrolled.
From 1989-1990, Jenny was cheerleader for Southern Jr. High in Media, IL.
From 1991-1994 she continued cheer leading for Southern High School in Stronghurst, IL. and
From 1995-1998 she was part of the Pom Pon squad from Southern High School.
Jenny has always enjoyed dancing and became a student of Raeann School of Dance in fall 2010. She currently employed at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL. and is looking forward to fulfilling a lifelong dream of being a dance instructor.
